I didn't know it was going to be like THIS!
Everyday I check out blogs about motherhood, decorating, organizing, cooking etc... In the hopes that I will find something that will help me. And I do. But the problem is with this new day and age of pin this, DIY that, scraping, decorating, and cleaning I just end up disappointed and frustrated. Not with the blogs (though I wonder how they do it all) but with myself. I have 2 little girls (Sammy 4yr old and Ally 18 months old) and an accomplishment for me is to go the bathroom with the door closed rather then having my 18month try to help me flush the toilet or stand on the stool and try to crack her head on the sink. Not fun! Maybe its the blogs I check out but I feel no one talks about the life with the little ones. How hard it is to organize and clean when you little one is climbing the coffee table or emptying all your kitchen drawers... I look around my house at all the undone, un-started (made up word) projects that surround me. I pray and cross my fingers everyday that Ally will have a long nap so I can just get the basics done(laundry, dishes) Today Ally has decided to rebel her nap. Is that a running nose I see??? Oh no, don't be sick. So I wait and end up doing a re-do nap. Basically, I pick her up snuggle/play for half hour and try again. Fingers crossed. So this post is not to be negative or defeated. Rather is is to be real and honest and hopeful. We moms are not alone; we are not perfect; we don't all have it figured out. I believe that this is the journey of motherhood. To try desperately to figure it out. But what I constantly try to remind myself is this, I don't want to miss the good stuff in the quest of trying to figure it all out. Does that make sense? So today I am grateful for my life, my health, for this wonderful country I live in, for abundant food, running water, a bathroom and a hot shower. What are you grateful for today? Also, today I will attempt to do one productive thing (besides my usual chores-today is the bathroom) I will try to throw something/s away that we don't need. I will go around the house with a garbage bag and just simply look for the stuff we don't need or use. Also, I pray Ally will take her morning nap. Because it will be an awfully long day without it. Here are just some pictures I took that are non-pinterest worthy. As I like to say, Just Living...
