Buckle Your Seats, It's Going to be a Bumping Ride

Colds, ear infections, fevers, runny noses you name it, all give me a post traumatic stress response. Last fall and winter was one of the hardest times in my life. Sammy has just started preschool and at that time I had a 6 month baby at home. I had no idea what I was in for. It was the week before Halloween. My husband was going on a business trip for 4 days and I was going to be all by myself. And that is when the dark cloud set on our house and didn't leave till almost March...I put my baby to bed like I always do. I sat down and took a moments rest when all of a sudden I heard her scream uncontrollably. This screaming followed me through months of on going ear infections to finally, making the decision to get her ear tubes. There is much more to this story but that is for another day. (I'm still recovering) But now we are back to school again. And it begins. Ally had a running nose yesterday and only took a 45min nap. I don't know who was crying more... So my mantra is "Let it go." Though it sometimes kills me, leave the mess for later. It is almost impossible to clean, organize and pick up when your little toddler is fussy. So I lay down on the floor with her, I rub her back and dump toys in and out of bins as I too blow my nose. Oh, I hope and pray this is a better season for colds... At least Sammy isn't sick...(fingers crossed) Helpful Tip: To all the beginners/non-cooks out there: I love to use frozen veggies. The chopped onions and peppers are my absolute favorite plus a jar of minced garlic. They are in almost every recipe and save so much time by not cutting and also money because they are so cheap.
